  • we are a Christian school
  • began operations in 1983 as a private independent school
  • offer playschool, kindergarten, grades 1-9
  • have approximately 165 students (K-9) and 25 in playschool
  • became an alternative program within the Black Gold Regional Division in September 2005

Covenant’s Mission Statement:

Together parents and staff are committed to providing a uniquely Christ-centered education that promotes academic, social and spiritual growth.

Now, what does that mean?

  • Together: we need the staff and parents to worktogether!Parents can be involved in formal ways (e.g. committee members), with the students (e.g. field trip supervisors),at ‘friend-raising’ events (e.g. pancake breakfast)…
  • Christ-centered: Christ is at the centre of all we do.Our goal is make our entire curriculum and ways of operating totally infused with our Christian beliefs. We hope that even if you took away the overtly Christian practices (eg. devotions, prayer, Bible class) our school would still be obviously Christian.
  • Academic growth: we are a school and that means that academics are important to us.We offera full range of academic subjects, including the core subjects and a variety of artistic and physical opportunities as well. Our students receive a solid academic education and compare very favorably to the students across the province in terms of performance on Provincial Achievement Tests.
  • Social growth: learning and practising the skills of living in community are important and we take seriously our task of guiding students in this area of growth as well.
  • Spiritual growth: we recognize that the school supports parents and the church as primary nurturers of faith in young people.Covenant is a support for Christian parents in the raising of faith-ful children.

Covenant’s Vision Statement

We believe that God is Lord of all creation and that He created each person in His image. The Bible, as God's inspired Word, guides us and is the foundation for all learning.

Therefore, as a school community we endeavour to mould all our teaching and learning to reflect the glory of God.

By providing a Christ-centred learning environment, we strive to equip all our children with knowledge, skills, strategies and insights that will enable each of them to fully develop their God-given gifts.  Specifically, we aim to nurture in our children a personal love and respect for God, others and creation.

We acknowledge the joint responsibility and mutually supportive roles of home and school, and so together we educate our children for lives of obedience and service to God both now and in the future.
